MINISTRIES OF FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH The purpose of ministry at First Assembly of God is two-fold:

1) to enable everyone who attends to find an area to either get involved or come to know the Lord in a greater way and

2) to open doors in which you can bring those who do not have a church home and get them involved.

Our ministries are exciting and promise to stretch you and get you out of your comfort zone. Our leaders are not just warm bodies filling a position, but men and women who God has called into their respective areas of leadership and who love the privilege of mentoring and helping others reach their full potential for the Lord’s service. We’re waiting for you!

Discipleship Ministry

Our goal at First Assembly is to help fulfill part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) by becoming a “community” of Christ’s disciples We believe that God has entrusted to every Believer the responsibility to take others along with them in the road to knowing Christ and finding their place of ministry. It is through developing relationships with newer Christians that we are able to impart our knowledge and experience with Jesus and through this process we all grow closer to the Lord and also to one another. Our Discipleship Leaders are a great group of men and women who are in love with Jesus and take their role as mentors to heart. We have great testimonies of people who have come to First Assembly, experienced the benefits of our discipleship ministry, and are now leading groups of their own. (Eph. 4:11-16).

Men’s Ministry: All of our Men’s Discipleship groups come together periodically for Men’s Breakfasts, Retreats, Outreaches and a host of other events in order to build relationships and offer opportunities to invite co-workers, friends, family and neighbors who do not have a church home.

Women’s Ministry: Our Women’s Discipleship groups enjoy coming together for movie nights, conventions, outreaches, seminars and workshops as well as SHOPPING so that we can get to know one another and just relax! We try to offer opportunities that will minister to every different age group and lifestyle.

Youth Ministry

“The Filling Station” is a place where teenagers can come to learn about Jesus Christ and fellowship with other youth. Our ministry exists to have students honor God with their lives, to discover their ministry, to help them grow in their faith so that they can reach non-believing students and help them connect with other Christians. Teens will be challenged to live a life without compromise while engaging them to discover all the joys of living for Christ. There are lots of fun activities that include: mission trips, outreaches, game nights, conventions, group Bible studies, drama ministry and much more!

Children's Ministry

Children’s Equipping Center

Children are close to God’s heart. He cherishes their laughter and catches their tears. Each child is born with a destiny and a purpose. But so often these days, children are exploited, forgotten and undervalued.

Our desire is to introduce children to a God who loves them no matter what, to provide a safe environment for them to learn in age-appropriate ways, and to equip them with tools that will help them walk with God for the rest of their lives.

Children are not the church of tomorrow they are the church of today! They can make a difference right now, without waiting until they are teens or adults.

In our Children’s Service, we use both a large group time consisting of: worship, a message, illustrative lessons and puppets and small group discussion time to help kids grasp the biblical principle of the lesson and apply it to their lives.

Timothy Club

We strongly believe that children can learn to minister as well and that many young ministers today were called into the ministry at an early age. In order to help reinforce this belief, our 9 – 12 year olds become a part of the “Timothy Club” – they receive ministry training during Sunday School and then have an opportunity to practice what they are learning by serving in Children’s Church and various outreaches in the community.

Prime Timers
If you are age 55 or over, then Prime Timers will definitely be a group you will want to try out. We believe there is no RETIREMENT PLAN in God’s Army. Our Prime Timers are active in our church’s ministry from Discipleship Groups, outreaches, mission trips and fill many other vital roles as well. Also, from time to time, they enjoy getting together for day trips, concerts, lunch gatherings and community educational seminars. Come and be a part of our Prime Timers at First Assembly!

Music Ministry

Our worship at First Assembly is Spirit-filled, contemporary in style and we strive to stay on the cutting edge of what God is doing in His Church today! We do enjoy all styles of music as well, however, when we come together in corporate worship, we recognize the fact that we are ministering to an “audience of one”.

There are many ways to become involved in our Music Ministry at First Assembly, from playing or singing on the praise and worship team to performing in human videos, praise dance ministry or special seasonal productions. We love the arts and desire to express our love for Him with all that we have and all that we are. If you are interested in participating in any area of our music ministry, please contact us!

Praise, Dance & Drama Ministry

worshipministry We love the Fine Arts! Our Pastor has a degree in Theater and Communications and was a member of a professional Christian Repertory Company, so we truly enjoy expressing our love for Jesus through music, drama and dance.

Whether you enjoy working behind the scenes or delivering lines, dance, pantomime, or playing an instrument…we have a place for you. We are hoping to be able to offer Christian dramas and perform not only on the mission field but also within our community in the near future. You can become a part of this new ministry opportunity here at First Assembly!

Intercessory Prayer

First Assembly of God has a vibrant intercessory prayer ministry. It is our most important midweek activity and we invite you to join us every Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM in the church sanctuary for one hour of dynamic, uplifting, intercessory prayer. We pray and intercede for the sick, for our families and unsaved loved ones, for our city, our community, our leaders, and much more.

Nursery Ministry
Children are a blessing to us! We know that when you visit our church that you will want to have a safe place to leave your child and are assured that they will be loved and cared for. That’s why all of our nursery workers are trained especially to work with infants and toddlers and we have a unique nursery program that teaches your infant or toddler the Word of God on their level. You see, we believe that no one is too young to begin learning about Jesus and the fact that God loves them! All of our workers have also had background checks and are regularly given up to date training on new techniques in knowing how to care for your child with the same love & concern for safety that we know you do.

Celebrate Recovery
The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to “be changed.” By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power. CR is a 12-step Christ centered recovery ministry for anyone struggling with any hurt, habit or hang-up! We have found hope and help in the power of Jesus Christ! Through Celebrate Recovery we are accessing Christ’s power in our lives to overcome our issues of anger, grief, alcoholism, guilt and shame, financial loss, divorce, dysfunctional families, sexual abuse, drug abuse, eating disorders and many more!

Partnering with the Community to bring health, healing and success to families

Help_logo Help is a faith-based ministry where First Assembly of Rosenberg is partnering with organizations OUTSIDE the church realm. We will partner with others to offer services to our community such as ESL, reading, writing, computer skills, family counselling, faith-based 12-step program, marriage classes sponsored by HEADSTART and more.
